But members of the general population aren’t the only ones with a steady diet of Tweeting and Facebooking, the Scottish government has been very progressive in its approach to social media. The government is very aware of the major implications – socially, economically and culturally, because in 2011 they established a digital infrastructure action plan with a goal of becoming a world-class digital nation by 2020.
Don’t panic, they won’t abandon the traditional menu entirely. Scotland will still be the home to Irn Bru, whisky, haggis, and a guid night oot but they are not about to be left out of the information revolution.
